Built for homeowners who hate surprises

Remodiq started from a simple frustration: renovation cost estimates online were either too vague to be useful or locked behind a sales funnel. We built the calculator we wished existed — free, detailed, and honest about its limitations.

Our mission

Home renovation is one of the largest financial decisions a family makes — and most homeowners go into it with almost no reliable cost data. Contractor quotes take days or weeks to get. Online estimates are often based on national averages that don't reflect what labor and materials actually cost in your city.

Remodiq exists to close that gap. We give you a detailed, city-specific estimate in under 60 seconds — completely free, with no account required and no upsell at the end.

Our goal is not to replace contractor quotes. It is to walk into those conversations informed — knowing what a fair price looks like for your market, your room type, and your quality expectations.

How our estimates work

City-adjusted pricing

Labor and material costs vary dramatically across the US. A kitchen remodel in San Francisco can cost twice as much as the same project in Phoenix. Our city cost index adjusts every estimate to reflect local market conditions based on contractor survey data across 50+ metros.

Quality tiers that actually mean something

We define four quality tiers — Basic, Standard, Premium, and Luxury — with clear material and finish benchmarks for each. Basic means contractor-grade stock finishes. Luxury means custom millwork, imported materials, and top-tier appliances. These tiers are based on what contractors actually charge, not arbitrary multipliers.

Work scope modeling

Most calculators give you a single number per room. We let you specify which work scopes are included — electrical, plumbing, flooring, cabinets, countertops, and more — so the estimate reflects the actual scope of your project, not a generic average.

Transparent data sources

Our cost model is built on RSMeans construction data, the Remodeling Magazine Cost vs. Value Report, and NAHB remodeling statistics. We are upfront about what our estimates can and cannot account for. We are not trying to sell you anything — we just want to give you an honest starting point.
